HAPPY SATURDAY! Guys, we have officially made it to one full week of fasting and blogging. I pray that these messages are blessing you the way they are blessing me. Be sure to share them with your friends and family so that we can all live by faith together as we submit and trust God for the remainder of these 21 days!

Today, I was woken up out of my sleep with a specific word on my heart and it’s nothing really new or profound but I do believe it’s good and it’s God. I think that when seasons get tough it’s very easy to lose confidence when you feel as if you have lost control. You lose confidence in yourself, you lose confidence in those around you, and sometimes you even lose confidence in God. Situations can seem so overwhelming, that holding on to Gods word can seem impossible.

When I woke up, I was immediately brought to Peter walking on the water with Jesus. Now, I have referenced this story before but I want to dive into a different perspective for a moment.

When Peter asked Jesus to call him out to the water, he was looking for clarity. He didn’t fully know if it was Him so he asked. And with all confidence Jesus replies “come.” Peter then proceeds, with the same confidence, and steps out of the boat. I feel like God wants His people to be reminded today that your confidence comes from Him (Jeremiah 17:7). Not your surroundings, not your friends, not even yourself. But from Him and His word. Jesus knew the condition of the waves and yet still, in confidence, sent a word to Peter to cling to as he stepped out of the boat.

When God gives you a word or a promise, He doesn’t do it with hesitance. He's not worried about the outcome of His word and He isn’t worried about the forces that will try and come against it. I’ll put it to you like this - have you ever felt a word on your heart for somebody but you kind of hesitate? You hesitate because you want to make sure you’re hearing right and also because sometimes stepping into someone’s walk of faith with a word offering can be intimidating. What if you’re wrong? What if they think you’re crazy? What if you say it wrong and not in the way you felt God intended? Here’s my point, God doesn’t think like that when He sends a word or promise to you! He’s not concerned about being wrong because what He is saying is truth. He is here today, tomorrow and forever after that. He doesn’t hesitate when He speaks a word or a promise in your life. He is confident because He knows something you don’t, yet.

I don’t know what God has spoken to you. I don’t know what He’s promised you. I don’t know what visions and dreams He has shown you. But I know that the same God who had confidence in giving you that word, dream, or promise, is worth having confidence in. He can and He will do it. Don’t allow your faith to be hesitant. Walk in the boldness and authority that He has given you. Trust me, I know it can be scary and overwhelming at times. I think of Peter stepping out of that boat, as the waves continue to crash and the wind picking up. Imagine trying to receive your promise while there is chaos all around. It can be so distracting and discouraging to the point that it will cause you to doubt. But enough is enough. This year we are taking our confidence back from the enemy and putting it back in Jesus where it belongs! No longer will we waiver and hesitate. We will stand tall and strong on the word of our promises that God has confidently given.

At the beginning of this 21 day blogging journey, I left you guys with a list of scriptures to browse and choose from that best fit where you’re at in regards to the fast. One of those scriptures is Numbers 23:19 - shoutout to Skylar and Mau for putting me on to this one. But it says that God is not a man that He should lie, that He doesn’t change His mind. God is not playing you. God didn’t tell Peter to come on the water and say “sike!” He didn’t free the Israelites and then say “just kidding!” He didn’t anoint David to be king and then say “actually, I change my mind.“ No! He doesn’t make mistakes! He knows what He says and He knows what He does. So, don’t let the enemy confuse you out of your promise. Keep your confidence in Jesus, because He’s confident in what He said.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I just thank you. I thank you for your confidence. I thank you that when I don’t see it and when things don’t make sense to me, I can cling to your word. God, I thank you for every word, vision, promise, and dream you have spoken to each one of us. I thank you that we can trust you. I thank you that we can step out of the boat in confidence because you’re there with us. I thank you God that we are waking on water with you. I pray that you would continue to be our confidence and remind us Holy Spirit, when we begin to forget. We bind and rebuke the plan of the enemy to confuse us and discourage us. We know the truth, and your word saus that it will set us free. So, set us free from confusion, fear, worry, doubt, and anything else hindering us from trusting you completely. We love you. In Jesus name, Amen.
